You most likely are familiar with master film director and screenwriter James Cameron’s previous work, which include The Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), True Lies (1994), Titanic (1997), and now the biggest grossing film of all time Avatar (2009).

So what should you expect from the Canadian director’s latest offering Avatar; more revolutionary film-making, complete with jaw dropping special effects and grandiose historic themes reflecting more of Cameron’s genius.

The movie is set in the year 2154 when the RDA corporation partnered with a private security military contractor is mining a moon called Pandora, belonging to the planet Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri star system. However, living on the moon is the enigmatic nature loving Na’vi tribe, who also happen to be ten-foot-tall with bright blue skin.

What follows is one hour forty-one minutes of the most visually stunning movie entertainment ever witnessed, as Earth’s industrialists attempt to subjugate the Na’vi in order to acquire their valuable resources.

As the battle plays out, the beautiful alien world and the exotic creatures that live there subsequently arrest our senses, both visually and emotionally, and are the real wonders of this film. Consequently, Avatar is not a movie to be dissected but one to be experienced with the knowledge that the movie-making master James  Cameron is back in full force.
